This assignment, I chose the word Rainbow, Why? Well, Because it was kind of simple and it was the first thing that came to my mind. I use a larger scale for the letters, In order to make them come all the way across in the arch shape I used. I used the fount Goudy Stout, because it was a bolder font, made the letters much bigger. I stretch the 'O' alittle wider to make it fit across the arch. I took the pen tool and type along it, kind of moved the letters around with the arrow keys. Moving the word to the middle I made it where it took up most of the space on the page. I was going to layer the word rainbow into different layers like a rainbow but i figured that would be to much black. So I went with something simpler.
This should have been done as Type on a path with softer font choice. The arc does represent the shape of a rainbow, but the serif hard edges fonts do not. Take heed to the subtleties of the font.
